Windjammer Parade: tall ships crown the Kieler Woche
To close the Kieler Woche, the Windjammer Parade once again leads dozens of traditional sailing ships and historic vessels across the fjord.
The Windjammer Parade is the maritime highlight of the Kieler Woche. On the closing Saturday, dozens of tall ships, traditional vessels and escort boats sail in a long formation from Kiel-Wik to the mouth of the fjord. Accompanying ships take guests out onto the water, while the Kiellinie, the Reventlou meadow and the fjord shore offer the best vantage points from land. The day ends with the grand fireworks in the evening. The city recommends arriving by bus, train and fjord ferry, as large crowds are expected around the fjord.
