Kieler Woche 2026: programme confirmed — nine days of sailing, music and the fjord
The north's biggest summer festival returns: from 20 to 28 June, the fjord and the city centre turn into a vast festival mile centred on sailing.
The Kieler Woche is regarded as the world's largest sailing event and one of Europe's biggest public festivals. In 2026 it runs from 20 to 28 June. Thousands of boats compete in numerous classes on the inner fjord, while on land a dense programme of music, food and hands-on activities stretches along the Kiellinie and across countless stages. The traditional highlights are the closing Windjammer Parade and the grand closing fireworks over the fjord. Admission to the festival grounds is free.
